PLAZTIK MAG joined, Ad Deville of SKEWVILLE, by way of The Amtrak Adirondack train from New York City, through the Hudson Valley, into Montreal for The Osheaga Block Party, a kick off launch party for Canada’s most epic summer festival, The Osheaga Music & Arts Festival.
Skewville, meticulously transformed an abandoned building in a muddy lot near the Lachine Canal into a pop/street art block party true to perfection but with just the right hint of French BOEUF to please.
Cash in on that Groupons hotel deal for a beach front view in Asbury Park to catch tonight’s opening of Jonathan Levine’s new show Revolutions featuring album cover art by Shepard Fairey, play some pinball at The Silverball Museum (of course) and attempt to crash a few shows throughout the “Ill be Your Mirror” weekend curated by Portishead for All Tomorrow’s Party.
New music video and song “City Lights” by James Smith (aka Jmzs Smith) is perfect for moody grey days of lost morals, endless summer escapes of the mind, & boredom.
Why does everything sound better in French? Even adolescent water gun fights are cooler (and evidently more cartoonishly violent) when spoken with a French accent. Awesome.
The Man. The Music. The Style. Our friend Sir Shorty is a music consultant to the fashion, art & film industry since the beginning of quite cool money.
We recently discovered his theme song (because who doesn’t have a theme song right? And if you don’t… get it together, man) and really, it’s so good we had to share. Shorty the Pimp by Don Julian & the Larks, the original soundtrack for an unreleased 1970′s Blaxploitation movie pretty much sums it all up.
Don’t Trip! Visit Sir Shorty’s site to find out how he can turn your life on (or business) with just the right soundtrack.
